Rethinking Western Plaza
During my semester in David Fox's studio course we were encouraged to focus on digital representation of our projects using video presentation rather than the traditional print presentation, meaning most of the production work involved 3D modeling, rendering, and photo manipulation. Over the course of this semester we were assigned two projects on the same site: an unused building in the Western Plaza Shopping Center. The goal was to design a building that broke the boundaries of the stereotypical strip mall to create a cultural center at the scale of a neighborhood. The first of these two projects was a branch library while the second was a satellite art museum.
